It is said: “Necessity is the mother of invention”, and under the weight of the urgent need to solve the problem of unemployment and the shortage of qualified personnel in the world of industry and business, in 2003 the Anadolu Institute for Education and Culture (AKEV) submitted to the Turkish Higher Education Council a request to establish Anadolu BİL Vocational School and indeed the establishment has been completed on September 26 of the same year.
In the framework of the endeavor to establish a university and benefit from the acquired experiences, Istanbul Aydin University was established on the 18th of May 2007, to join the Anadolu Bell Vocational School, and they fall under one banner.
On the European side of Istanbul, specifically in the area of Florya and near Ataturk International Airport, Aydın University in Istanbul occupies an area of 175 thousand square meters, with a distinguished faculty of 1500 academics.
It includes more than 40,000 students so far, 4000 of them are international students, for Arab students the largest share of them, and it offers its diploma, bachelor's, master's and doctoral programs within 7 university campuses spread over different regions of Istanbul.

Of course, Istanbul Aydın University has not neglected the aspect of scientific cooperation and the exchange of experiences with other international universities, as it had held nearly 450 student exchange programs through the European Cultural Exchange Program (Erasmus +), so that its excellent students had the opportunity to spend a semester or two in one of those universities, and in return receive international students there.
One of the fruits of this cooperation had been reaped in the summer of 2018, when the logo designed by fine art student Erim Karaoglu at Kaunas University of Technology in Lithuania won the largest number of votes, to be approved out of more than 45 works submitted to the competition as an official slogan for a soccer tournament of European basket of women.

Last year, the University of Aydın was ranked globally in 1945 and 57th nationally, and enjoys wide European recognition, especially after receiving the "ECTS Label" and "DS Label" awards given by the European Commission to European universities that have passed the ECTS and DS Label applications with distinction.
Not only was its certificates recognized in the European Union and the United States, but also in most Arab countries, with Iraq, Jordan, Palestine, Egypt and Syria at the top.
